Carry Me Away provides the following in-person instruction and classes.
Personalized video assistance - from my home to yours - worldwide! Our resident babywearing expert is now offering one-on-one assistance worldwide via Skype. All you need is a webcam and the free software downloaded to your computer.
Fee: $25, for up to one hour session, with two follow-ups .
Baby Carrier Classes: Held regularly in Napa, CA. Classes are 90 minutes long and will introduce you to the benefits of babywearing, the different types of carriers, and how to choose and use the carriers that are right for you and your family. You will also have the opportunity to try on different types of carriers for yourself and to buy carriers as well. Bring your children (if you have them yet!) Upcoming classes:

Fee: $20, which can be applied to cost of any carrier you choose to purchase.
Private Classes
Full class: A personalized session in your home. Perfect for caregivers with multiple children, scheduling issues or parents/children with special needs. Each 90 minute session will cover the same information as our classes, but customized to your needs and with as much 1:1 instruction as it takes. Laurel will also be available for follow-up e-mail and phone advice free of charge.
Fee: $50, plus $30 certificate toward carrier of your choice.
Quickie Class: A personalized 45-minute session focused on using a carrier that you already own and may be having trouble using. Great for learning back carries, perfecting breastfeeding positions, troubleshooting your comfort, etc. Your home (within 30 minutes driving) or Laurel's, in Napa, CA.
Fee: $25
Buying Appointments: Just want to purchase? Contact me to set a time to view and try on any carrier featured on the site. Your appointment includes instruction in using any carrier that you purchase.
Fee: Free (at Laurel's home in Napa), $25 in your home (within 30 minutes driving from Napa or Fairfield). Fees for further locations can be arranged upon request.
Sling Parties:Get a group of three or more people together and Laurel will travel to your home (within 45 mintues driving distance of Napa or Fairfield) with a selection of carriers for you and your friends to try and buy. Sling party hosts can earn discounts with every carrier your friends purchase!
Fee: Free for groups of 3 or more within 45 minutes. For greater distances, please contact us for a quote.
Professional Presentations:Bring baby carrier education to your group or organization! This is a brief (15-30 min) presentation geared towards informing your members of the benefits of babywearing. You will receive an introduction of babywearing to your group and a demonstration of the basic types of carriers.
- Great for providers and nonprofits who work with parents and would like more information on babywearing to bring to your clients.
- Also available as a "teaser" presentation as a part of a bigger class or workshop (e.g.Lamaze). Please contact me for more information.
Fee: Generally free of charge.
