Scootababy | | Place baby seat in desired position over the right or left hip. Buckle waist belt and tighten securely around waist. The small sliding pad can be placed on the opposite hip for comfort. | Adjust the strap lengths. It's easiest to tighten the strap in back to the final desired length, and loosen the strap in front... so only the front strap needs to be adjusted while baby is in the carrier. | Position baby squarely over the seat and hold baby with arm on same side. | | | Pull the seat up behind baby's back and make sure baby is seated deeply. Hold the fleece panel with your opposite hand and pull the loop over your arm, the baby, and your own head. | Position the fleece panel so that it lays flat and cups your shoulder. Center the ball of your shoulder in the fleece panel, for maximum comfort. | Tighten the straps by pulling the ends downward to take out the slack and hold baby snug. You may need to adjust the strap lengths to center the fleece over your shoulder for comfort. |
PikkoloPrintable instructions for using your Pikkolo:Additional tips for using your Pikkolo baby carrierThe waist webbing is meant to go around your natural waist, or even above. If you are used to wearing buckle carriers such as Ergo lower on your hips, you may be putting the pikkolo on too low. Start by wearing it at your natural waist. If you have a small baby who seems lost in the carrier or a baby who wants to face out, you can shorten the body of the Pikkolo to bring the baby higher in the carrier and give baby more room to see out.
Positioning your baby in the Pikkolo: A common error with the pikkolo is your child's bum not being seated deeply into the carrier. This means the carrier won't come up as high on the back/front of child and will not feel as comfortable as possible for either of you. To resolve this, first, take the straps down, make sure baby's legs are spread as wide as comfortable, smoothing fabric of carrier body out horizontally and bring out and up as you start to bring the shoulder straps up over your shoulders. You may even want to hold both shoulder straps and give a little bounce to get the baby in deeply. See pictures below for more tips.
 | If there is "pouching" or rumpled fabric in the area of the child's bum, your child may not be seated properly. This "air space" of fabric beneath the bum needs to filled up by having the child seated in that space. | | Second, take your hands and place under baby's thigh/bum to smooth out the fabric and get baby deeply seated. | | You can also tug onthe carrier sides just above the leg and below the side buckle attachments. | | All done! In the proper position, your child's legs are spread comfortably in a seated position, with the bottom of the carrier under the knees. The fabric is not bunched or rumpled, baby's bum rounds the carrier out fully. |
