We recommend the Gemini for anyone looking for a buckle carrier for use with a newborn on up to 18 months.  This carrier can support up to 35 lbs and can also carry children over 2, but it really shines when buying for younger children or when sharing between older and younger babies!

For those looking for a cooler carrier for hot/summer weather, check out the Gemini Cool!  It has mesh panels and moisture-wicking spf 50 fabric. This is the Gemini that we recommend for very hot weather babywearing!

  • extremely versatile – can be used as a front carrier, back carrier, hip carrier and in the forward-facing position. Click here for a visual on the different ways to use your Gemini baby carrier.

Ordered the Gemini after doing a good amount of research on different carriers and getting advice from a handful of moms and a postpartum doula. Really really happy with the choice. I have a short torso, and it fits me well and is very comfortable on. It has worked for my daughter since week four I roll up a receiving blanket and insert in into the seat so she is more frogged in her position for now, and I know it will grow with her because of the many different carrying options. It folds up easily, so I can take it with me when I go out in case she tires of the stroller. And I use it nearly every day around the house for those times when she wants to be held but I need a free hand to get things done. Also, great price and great support on Carry Me Away. Very happy with the service so far.

We first tried the Beco Butterfly II, but my daughter did not like it. So I decided to try the Gemini, and we love it!!!! It fits my petite body, and its versatility is great. My daughter loves the hip carry.

I love the Beco Gemini. It’s so easy to use since the straps cross at the back and buckle on the sides. It’s comfortable for both mom and baby to use. My DS has fallen asleep in the front-facing, rear-facing and side carry positions. Great carrier!

I’ve been wearing my baby in the Gemini since she was 9 days, and it’s AWESOME. So easy to put on. Sometimes have to give the back buckle an extra squeeze to get a second click to be sure it’s secure. Distributes weight great, soft fabric, easy to adjust.

I LOVE my Beco Gemini. Greatest attributes: straps can be crossed in the back, baby has head support, baby’s legs can hang free either facing forward or when facing in to your chest, baby’s legs are not spread far apart like the Ergo using the snaps in the front are great. Overall I find it much more comfortable than the Ergo. Downfalls: no hood this can easily be solved by either a hat or tying a thin linen like diaper over the top you can discreetly nurse this way too!, buckles take two hands to unsnap, and no pocket, but this could be a fun weekend project. I have two big boys and this carrier is perfect, no awkward infant inserts!

I’ve tried EVERY carrier out there and the Beco Gemini has by far been my favorite. My baby only wants to face out while being carried so my go-to carrier had always been the Baby Bjorn, which killed my back and shoulders after about 15 minutes. The Gemini is so comfortable and easy for me to wear and my daughter falls asleep in such a relaxed position now. I can easily walk with her for over an hour without any pain or soreness like I had with the baby Bjorn. I haven’t tried it in the backpack position yet, but I’m sure it will be just as great.

Carry me away is great to work with, I really felt they got baby wearing.
The beco gemini is great . It has a higher weight limit of 35#, allows for a variety of carrying methods, and is super comfy. The weight is on your hips, not your shoulders or back, so I am able to wear this for an extended period of time. I love it and wish I got it sooner (instead of suffering through the bjorn).

Bought the Gemini in Metro Black for my sister who is having a baby in the spring. The Gemini is one of my “must haves” for baby! I used mine daily with my daughter. Ordering from Carry Me Away was a dream! They had the best price on the Internet and shipping was super speedy. The extra notes and instruction included were a sweet touch that would be very appreciated by any new mama. Highly recommend the Gemini and Carry Me Away!

This company has been great in helping us find the right baby carrier. They have been very understanding and helpful. We had to send the Tula carrier back due to our son’s dislike for facing inward. I emailed the company and they immediately responded and allowed me to send back my order. They even suggested other carriers that he might like better. We ended up with the beco gemeni because of all the position options. He still is not too fond of it, but we are hoping as he gets a little bigger, he might.

I bought the Beco Gemini from Carry Me Away after completing the prescription service. I use my carrier primarily for walking, hiking, and for carrying my 7 month old son around the house while I do things like chores, cooking, or some light cleaning. We graduated from a Moby Wrap. He loves being worn and carried everywhere.

    Pros:
    1. Fast shipping and returns. Easy to exchange items.
    2. Both my partner and I can use the carrier.
    3. Easy to get on and off after using a few times; there is short learning curve in getting on and off, and tight enough.
    4. Front carry either facing you or face forward
    5. Back carry

    Cons:
    1. Sometimes the buckles do not clasp all the way shut. Each buckle (there are 3 for the carrier portion) has a trilock feature, and sometimes there is a very small portion, such as 1/4” inch, gap that needs to be pushed to “click” and “close”. In the beginning, we wore him a lot without noticing, now we inspect and carefully make sure they are closed.
    2. Engaging the neck support option is challenging with either one or using two hands. The buckles to lengthen and shorten the hood require two hands. Sometimes not always practical!
    3. No pockets in places that would make sense. I exchanged carriers specifically for a Beco (ordered the Sail color) with a pocket on the waistband. However, it is not a very useful pocket. Your baby’s bum will make it challenging to use the pocket, and it’s not practical to get in and out of quickly.
    4. Petite frames may find this carrier a bit loose at first. It took a few wears to really feel like it was tight enough. I still have to use two hands to tighten the sides.
    5. Not really easy to store. I wish it came with a hook or strap for hanging. Would make stowing overnight so much easier. As is, I leave it on a clump on the couch.

After using (5+ times per week) for several weeks:
This carrier is so much easier to get on and off than the wraps. The ease of on/off is fantastic when running errands in the car, or even stashing in the stroller. I use it daily. It’s easy enough to wear my babe, and then carry a backpack which I use as a diaper bag. In front carry, I find that this is comfortable for up to 3 miles hike with no major hills.

Cute carrier I’ve only used it with my nephew who’s 30 pounds and it was very comfortable. Can’t wait to try it with my son in 6 weeks when he’s born. Fast shipping and I got free drool pads. Thank you

This review is more about the company owner than the carrier- she was so helpful with letting my husband and I try on many different carriers until we settled on the Gemini. We really did/do like it but our little guy doesn’t care for it right now so we decided to return it but we’re hoping to try again down the road once he’s a little older. Also we’re not huge fans of the security clips on the buckles- a bit difficult to use but may have gotten easier with practice. This company has great customer service and we really appreciate all the help we received trying to find the right carrier!

I purchased this product for friends who had just had twins. They had been given one Beco Gemini baby carrier and liked it so much that they wanted another. They were thrilled to receive the second one as now they can each carry a baby comfortably.
The drool pads are very useful too, especially for teething!
They received carrier very quickly after ordering. The whole process was very efficient.

The Beco Gemini is my favorite baby carrier (I have tried several!) for its versatility (front-facing in/facing-out, back carry, end possible side-carry as well), ease-of-use, comfort, and style ;-D I now have two girls and have used my Beco for my first through about 1.5 or 2 years old (after which she preferred to walk anyway!), and now with my 9 month old, 21 pound-and-growing daughter. We virtually live in this carrier and never leave home without it! While I have used other carriers (including Moby wrap, Kozy Carrier, Tula) for different stages, the Beco goes the distance. I have recommended this carrier to numerous friends and interested passerbys, and recently purchased one for a friend for her soon-to-be-born baby boy. I say it is a mother’s must-have, and is the first gift I think of for my dear mama friends! The prints are lovely, the fabric holds up pretty well (we are going on 4.5 years of use, baby slim, multiple washes, and all is still in-tact!). The buckles are secure and easy to open and close by yourself. I especially appreciate the cross-back feature where the straps wrap-around and clip in on your sides. (Much preferred over the standard snap at the back of the neck with Ergo and Tula) I have even considered selling the Beco myself I like it so well! Laurel does a great job with this website and personalized customer service, so she is easy to recommend ;-D If you are considering a baby carrier for yourself or future-parents, I heartily recommend this one! Happy (comfortable) baby-wearing!! ;-D ~ Ashley North, Alaska

(p.s. The only reason I don’t give this all 5 stars is because I think it is BEST for the front carry, with babies >30lbs. Back carry works, but not quite as comfortably as the front. But when babies are little and most likely to be held, the front carry works amazingly well in this!!)

I have five kids and I never tried carrying with any of my other kids because I’m a big girl….Like 3x-4x big. I scoured this website seeing if anything would fit me. I had my eyes set on another, but I decided I would call & ‘the slinglady’ helped me figure out which carrier was best for me. I am in LOVE with this carrier! I started carrying my baby last month at five months old. She loves to see the world and I was hoping she could face outward, but her legs looked awkward and uncomfortable so I still have her facing me. The silicone teether I made her helps keep her occupied 🙂 I can’t wait for her legs to get a little longer so she can face the world! My baby has no problem hanging out in the carrier for long periods of time. We went to a huge yardsale down here and I think the place took us almost two hours to finish. She slept most of the time. She can easily drink from her bottle in the carrier, too.

I love being able to carry my baby and because of this website and Laurel “the slinglady” I am able to!! I was worried the carrier wouldn’t fit me because of my size. It says it can go up to 60in and I’m 57in.Still a comfortable fit! The most comfortable for us is the cross strap carry. She doesn’t seem as heavy when the straps are in that position. It’s nice to be able to fold laundry and a few other things while carrying so my house doesn’t stay a mess until baby is happy! Sweeping is a workout!!

The carrier is easy to put on. The included instructions are very helpful. The buckles are very secure. Make sure you hear the click! The carrier is supposed to be recommended for hot weather, but we live in south Georgia, so we will see if it lives up to that! I sure hope so because my all my children are hot natured!

The customer service was EXCELLENT!!! It was nice to get the free produce bags! Very nice size. I figured since they were free they would be small, but they aren’t, and you get all five, not just one! I would recommend Carry Me Away to anyone that is interested in a carrier/wrap. Some of the best customer service I’ve ever had! I love that I can carry my baby!

    Andrea, Down south…Georgia!

We recently purchased the Beco Gemini to use for our grandson! Laurel the store owner was absolutely wonderful to work with! She must have answered dozens of my questions and love that she was so knowledgeable about each of the carriers! She steered us toward the Beco Gemini and we are very pleased with the product & look forward to using it to help carry around our precious grandkids!

Love the option to be notified! It is fantastic and how I ended up with carrier I wanted. Quick shipping and easy check out process. I got the Beco Cool for the spring/summer and have only used it in the house but so far really like it. It’s very comfortable and easy to use. Hands free is so helpful. My guy is 8 weeks, roughly 10lbs and 24 inches. He fits really good in this carrier.

  19. Mandy

This is easily my favorite soft structured baby carrier. I used it with my youngest starting at 3 weeks old and it has been his favorite place to be! It’s easy to use and comfortable (even when wearing for long periods). It also fits a wide range of sizes, even my 275 lb, broad shouldered husband could wear it comfortably. Highly recommended!

My favorite ssc! Just got for my third child, who is three months old. Absolutely the most comfortable carrier I have ever owned, and I love that he can be carried outward as he is my first child to want to do so. Carry me away also has AWESOME customer service, I will be back again!
