New Sakura Bloom colors for Fall/Winter 2015

The new Sakura Bloom colors for the Fall/Winter season are here, and they are stunning, as always.  SB usually puts out colors in Fall/Winter and then again for Spring/Summer.  So far this season, the new colors are in the Classic Linen, Simple Silk and Essential Silk lines.

The Sakura Bloom Chambray collection hasn’t added any new colors yet.  Sakura Bloom does sometimes do a second round, though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we some additions to this super popular line over the next several weeks.  New Essential combinations are often released slowly as well.

Classic Linen Sakura Bloom colors for Fall 2015

Wheat Classic Linen

Return of an old favorite!  Wheat was one of the staple colors of the Pure linen line and was much mourned by our customer (and us!) when it was retired with the return of the Classic line.  So we are super excited to have Wheat back!  A light golden yellow, Wheat is lovely and surprisingly neutral.

Sundown Classic Linen

Sakura Bloom says Sundown was “inspired by the flow of late day sun filtered through vibrant autumn foliage.”  It is a slightly cooler orange, with a hint of coral, especially when compared to Sienna (which is still available and is a deeper, richer color).

Vert Classic Linen

A crisp, fresh green.  Vert is much lighter than Cedar, which is more of a forest green.

Peacock Classic Linen

A dark teal linen, Peacock is somewhere in between a dark forest green and navy.  It is much more neutral than Ripple, which is more turquoise.

Just for fun, and since I think it really helps to see the colors in context with each other, here are a few shots of the new colors all together, as well as next to some of the other colors in the lineup.

Simple Silk for Fall 2015

Olive Simple Silk

Our customers have been asking for an Olive silk, and it’s finally here!  A true Olive, this silk is both earthy and elegant.  A great neutral!

Patina Simple Silk

Patina is another customer favorite, back after a long hiatus.  Patina is a rosy copper shot through with purple/blue.  Patina looks different in different lights, which is part of its magic!

Hunter Simple Silk

Hunter is a rich deep green.  Brighter than forest green, this is a perfect jewel tone.

Cobalt Simple Silk

Cobalt is a bright pop of color, nearly electric in its blueness.  Not for the shy, Cobalt is a striking statement piece.  It is a bolder, less complicated color than last year’s Cayman.

And a few shots of the new colors altogether, and comparisons:

Essential Silk for Fall 2015

So far, SB has released just a few new Essential combinations, but I expect more will pop up over the next month or two.  For those who don’t know, the Sakura Bloom Essential slings  are a mix of two simple silk colors so you get both in one sling.  You can reverse the sling for an entirely different look.

Hunter+Midnight Essential Silk: Deep green Hunter and classic black Midnight silk are paired in a striking combination.

Ink+Marcona Essential Silk: two favorites, now paired for a striking, yet muted combination.

Discontinued Colors

As of now, only Tulum and Seaglass from the Spring/Summer Collection have been retired.  Retired colors aren’t typically announced in advance, so there’s no way to know which of the current colors will be sticking around and which will be gone!  If I had to guess, I’d say that Maize, Mystic, Acadia, Sienna and Ripple would be the most likely contenders of the Classic line and Bluegrass, Pink Sand, Catalina, Radicchio and Vermilion of the Silk lines.  But that is truly a guess, I have no inside knowledge!
