The Beco Soleil baby carrier is  a great choice when you are looking for a carrier for an older baby or child, or when you are looking for a step up from your Beco Gemini or other infant carrier.  It’s also a great carrier for sharing with children of different ages since it can be used from birth (with the infant insert – sold separately) but also has great support for toddlers.

Why you will love the Beco Soleil:

  • 3 great positions: front (facing in), hip and back carries, including the option to cross straps in back
  • the Soleil’s large, shaped seat with knee padding and the padded headrest make for a super cushy ride for your child
  • Storage, storage, storage!  Built-in storage features: pocket holds a phone or small wallet or even a cloth diaper!  Also has a key ring on the waist belt, a toy ring on the shoulder and an additional snap-on bag!
  • The Soleil sleep hood is nice and big, but can also be removed when you aren’t using it

I have a 17 lbs 10 month old and a 30 lbs 3.5 year old and I can comfortably carry both of them in this carrier. Its very comfortable. I have also worn them in an Ergo and a Tula, and I can honestly say that it is comparable, and maybe a touch more comfortable while wearing the big kid. I love that it comes with a detachable storage bag and hood. Compared to the Ergo the straps are slightly more awkward to tighten and the buckles are slightly harder to undo, but I can get over it since it is very comfortable to wear. Definitely recommend.

After completing a questionnaire and the recommendation from Carry Me Away, I decided to purchase the BECO Soleil for my 22 lbs 8 month old. I had been using a Moby Wrap since he was born, which was working great until he reached 20 lbs but he was just simply outgrowing it. I was looking for something with higher back coverage for baby, more back support for me and something I could use again when a new baby comes along. So far, the Soleil has been wonderful for both of us. I have yet to try the back carry but the front and hip carries are comfortable! The toy ring attachment is very useful, as well as the waist band pocket. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather here so I can try it out in public.

I have a Beco Gemini from about 4 years ago, which I used with my first and loved. He was a tiny baby, so it lasted us quite a while and he loved facing out.

With my second son, I was looking for a wider and taller carrier, mostly for back carrying better/more comfortable. The Soleil arrived just as expected, and I love that it isn’t padded, like the Gemini. Makes babywearing in a hot climate much more comfortable.

I only subtract a star because I think it isn’t the same quality as 4 years ago. It feels as if the polyester padding is somewhat loose inside the waist strap, if that makes sense. It just seems as if it isn’t sewn together as tightly as my Gemini is. Overall still much more comfy than the Gemini though, and I love the pockets and hood!

Being plus size it’s pretty tricky finding a carrier that fits comfortably, after trying 3 different types of ssc’s I borrowed a soleil from a friend and let me tell you it was amazing!! It’s so supportive and being able to cross the straps makes it so comfortable. I’m able to nurse in it easily and back carries are very comfortable as well!

We love our Soleli! It is easy to put on and very comfortable. I love how the straps can criss cross. I have tried other carriers that don’t and didn’t find them as comfortable after wearing my baby for awhile. I am so glad I chose a Beco!

As my son keeps growing, I needed to update his carrier. He is 18 months old and 13kg. I used the ktan, when he was 0-6 months and loved it, then the Boba Air until now..

The Boba Air was great until about 4 months ago. My shoulders were sore and the straps would slide off my shoulders. There were always line indents on the back of my son’s legs too, which led me to believe that the carrier isn’t that comfortable.

The Beco Soleil has fixed all of those problems! First, there is padding in the leg area, which is super comfy for my little man. Second, the straps cross and don’t slide off anymore, the padding is a benefit too. Third, the pouch in front is very convenient and useful, rather than clumsily searching for items in my purse.

I did have a difficult time with the buckles in the beginning, but after a few times of practicing, I can undo the clips easily. The trick is to press in the safety button first and then unbuckle.

It really is a comfortable carrier and I love the arrow design as it goes with anything. My son loves it as well. Definitely recommend. Also, carry me away did a great job sending it out right away and answering questions. Happy with the service and product.

My toddler is 19 months and about 24 lbs, and this carrier fits us so well! It is really comfortable to be able to cross the straps in back for front carry, and back carry is SUPER comfy. The backing is a little extra padded when compared to a Tula, so it can get a tad hot when worn out for a long time hiking or something active like that. The padding makes it really comfy and supportive for baby however, so it isn’t a bad thing. It seems fairly roomy on her still, so I think in will be in our rotation for a while.

My 11 month old son and I are loving our new carrier! The print is gorgeous, the fabric is so soft and buttery! The only bummer was that since I did layaway I did not qualify for the free suck pads even though I paid off my layaway before the promotion had expired which I think is a real bummer! Had I realized that I would have waited to order a few weeks!

My 8 month old, 30 inches, 20 pounds, out lengthened the standard “infant carrier” almost two months ago. We looked at the frame carriers thinking they were our only option, but too bulky for our needs. The Soleil is a great in between. In the smallest configuration, my 5’2 frame fits well. In the largest configuration my husband 6’4 frame is Ok.
We did, unfortunately, receive a Gemini by mistake, however the correct carrier was at the door in 4 days. Thank you Carry Me Away for correcting this so efficiently.

I have always found the Ergo carrier a bit hard on my shoulders and back as my kids grow out of their newborn stage and start getting heavier. I thought trying a Tula would be the answer. Not true. This Beco carrier is the one for me. I am 5’8″ with wide shoulders. It is SO MUCH more comfortable to wear than the other two carriers I mentioned.
My daughter is 11 months and 22lbs. She loves the fit and there is no stress on my posture or shoulders. After figuring it out, it’s easy to get on and off.
There is a carrier out there for everyone – I recommend trying a few different brands on to find what works best for you! This one is mine – Love it!

So happy to find a carrier for my son-in-law, who is a big guy!!! Tried several different carriers and they just were never big enough – he was so disappointed that he couldn’t carry his son around, too. Well, this solved the problem – he is 6’1″ and about 240lbs. and this carrier has room to spare. Thank you for considering all the different sizes needed for parents!

I have a 22 pound 7 month old, and I was really struggling with ring slings and long wraps (which I purchased for beauty’s sake, without trying them, certain I’d love them), so I decided to try the Beco. I’d always loved the sloth print, so that was a no-brainer. Right out of the package I was in love. It snaps on so easily, no fuss. I’m 5’1″, so I always had kind of a tough time finding a carrier that really fit well, and the Beco was just the thing. I was able to nurse comfortably and discreetly while wearing for the first time! The shoulder straps are super comfy, and I can easily reach all the buckles to adjust as necessary. I found the back carry to be really easy in the Beco, too. I had a bit of a hard time with a hip carry, but I’m sure it will come with practice. We live in South Florida, and on an 85* day I have been able to wear baby on the walk to and from my daughters school without getting hot – a huge plus for me. I’ve been able to “snap-and-go” every time I’ve put it on. I love the Soleil!

My husband has “his” Tula, and I can see him eying my Beco. Hands off!

As a side note, I received such wonderful customer service, fast shipping, and beautiful packaging from Carry Me Away, I’ll be returning for more purchases in the future. Thanks, Laurel!
